Great Times
Anybody who knows me, knows that business is my thing. Lately I have been networking with some highly respected individuals.

Art Hopkins, Me, Tal Frank
Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of being in the presence of both Art Hopkins (President of Macquarium) and Tal Frank (Vice President of Physician Loans). THese guys enlightened me so much. I have a new role model, Art Hopkins. This previous Wednesday I was enjoying the company of Jovita Moore (Anchor of 5pm and 6pm WSB-TV news) and Jack Harris (President of Junior Achievement of Georgia).
Jack Harris, Me
While Jack and I had so much in common in terms of perspectives, personalities and aspirations, he made me much confident that I will attain my goal of being the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. He actually challenged me to rase them, He believes I am shooting for something thats beneath me....cool.
John Pruitt, Me, Jovita Moore
Jovita amazed me with prominence before I met her and shocked the hell out of me with presentation. Her reality matches the perception you would get from reading up on her. This is a phenomenal women. I would love for my wife to embody her traits.
I am not your Best Friend
I've been feeling the need to address this topic for a while now. I have met great people here at school. Theres people who I can have great conversations with all day. But with those conversations, there are some who I assume don't encounter good conversations often and become slightly possessive over me. They label me as "best friend". This is not a problem, I like the idea of best friend but its the implication of the obligations that sway me away.
Although I have just met you, you have implied that I must converse with you frequently, be there in your bad times, continue to keep you smiling, get very close with you, eventually meet your family and always support you. . . but what if I just like to have good conversations. I've been told I have a magnetic persona but the irony is I hate being attached to others. Nevertheless, I hate being forced to do things.
If you truly want to be a good friend of mines, respect my space and isolation. MY good friend Khalfani (his blog is dope, check it out) has a series of poems entitled "Isolation vs Intimacy". In these poems he is talking about being single versus involved but a quote from his poem is relevant here . HE says "I was only intimate with my isolation"....I like being by my self. I only have 1 real best friend [Auriel Rucker], 5 real male friends [Joe, Kaylen, Asia, Kimbro, and Akil] and alot of female friends [Check out one of their blogs] (no assumptions please). They all know that Im innately a loner. So If you are attempting to be a good friend of mines first respect my isolation; dont force me to be close with you. It will only push me away...Shouts out to all my true friends!!

J-RO!!!

Growing up I was always taught that one should never show too much emotion--especially towards a man. It made you look weak. So i would hate it when my brother showed me so much love. My intentions were always to mold him into a great man, but at the time my perception of a man was emotionless. I would ridicule him for being a punk when he showed me too much appreciation. After a little maturation on my behalf, I have changed my perspective (hence the word latter above). I want my brother to express himself as much as he likes but still keeping a sense of masculinity when he does it.
Today as I left church I told him bye from a distance because I was in a rush to go to my meeting. As I left the building I walked to my car. All of a sudden I hear "Jeffrey! Wait up!". I quickly aboutface and see my brother sprinting towards me in the rain. When he got to me he gave me a hug. . .
That meant the world to me actually for multiple reasons. One I feel the love. Two I know my brother appreciates and notices how much I care him. Three, My brother isn't afraid to express himself!! I think I deserve a pat on the back. I am so proud of the little guy already. I love my little homie!! Keep the good shit up J-ro!!!
Must I shed light on weakass dudes again...smh
[he leaned over to see that I was texting a girl]
Earl- Thats ya wifey.
Me- Nah bruh, just a cool ass friend.
Earl - Oh...thats what ya say now.
Me- Dead Ass bruh. . . This aint my girlfriend I told you about.
Earl - you'll have both of them soon
What the hell is wrong with just having one girl now a days. Of course it unconventional, but why can it be plausible? As I mentioned in a recent post, having many females does one no justice. Instead it exploits extreme weakness. When a male possesses a variety of females at one time, more often than not he isn't with them for their personality; he is with them for their pussy. This gives that dude a sense of manhood for 3 reasons:
- He has let the media define his masculinity
Check out Byron Hurt's movie: Hip Hop:Beyond Beats and Rhymes - He feels sex will not only give him pleasure but also power over this female he is using
Check out the "its a dick thing" chapter in bell hook's book: We Real Cool - He wants to be able to tell his boys about how many girls he has screwed to gain respect.
"Dudes don't use females to get closer to females but rather to get closer to 'their boys'" ~Micheal Eric Dyson.
This shows that dudes are only weak when they do this. It shows they cant define themselves or find other mediums to gain power and respect. I have left these childish games alone. I like kicking it with females. I feel a lot more comfortable with females for many more reasons than I do with males. I honestly feel females are gonna take over the world very soon; so I guess you can call what im doing is networking. Females are cool fellas. I dont think they dont eed to be used, unless of you guys have something very unique going on. Instead lets form alliances iwth these females. Ya know what they say...If ya cant beat them, play with them. =/

Consider Conversation
Instead a conversation should be considered as a dialogue. He explains that this conveys a flowery; a river like conversation instead of a drum like conversation. I feel this is a cool way to look at a conversation...just a little food for thought.

Homosexuality : Red Pill or Blue Pill
I may have had the best conversation yet here in the AUC. With all the homosexual disdaining going on up here,I thought to ask a homosexual, well bi-sexual, friend of mine to speak n behalf the gay/homosexual community. I asked him why did many of the males that did go homosexual go through wiht the process? He shared that many times its just genuine propoensity towardse same sex, a traumatic childhood, or the way he has been socialized. [just like a heterosexual] My room mate then interrupted to support the latter; he said that it may be te puruit of dominance. It may be a way for that male to get that power and respect that will eventually get him social acceptance.
He says that maybe that person has been brought up in a single-mother household where the mother played the dominant role. Society has conveyed to this person as a child that a being a man requires power, respect and dominance. With that, the child inadvertently accumulates his mothers feminine habits. The child is under the impression tat he is projecting an image of dominance that will get him power and respect. When he interacts with with his male counterparts however he eventually becomes the subject of ridicule. Because of his harmless deviance to the mold of a man that society has sculptures, he has not gotten social acceptance of his peers. Seeing that social acceptance is one of the most desired intangibles on this Earth, he seeks to find it else where.
He soon comes into contact with a boy just like him. From here is where it gets tricky...the accptance of a homosexual lifestyle is the result of one or two pills ...the red one or the blue one:
The two that share the same feminine similarities soon becomne labeled by external spectators as gay. They are compelled (not forced) to internalize this stereotype and enjoy a homosexual lifestyle under this counterculture.
The two see that the females want them as friends and never as a mate. With that, they turn to each other for that much needed affection and as a result gain confirmation and confidence in their sexuality.
Either one of these results in them embracing an enjoyable counterculture. I don't like to see those that have internalized the dominant culture of sexuality to bash those who have been socialized to accept a homosexual lifestyle. Most times it was due to "just genuine propoensity towardse same sex, a traumatic childhood, or the way he has been socialized" as my bisexual friend shared. Although I know my sexuality has jut been subdued to inquiry by you all that are reading this, I still seek to understand the motives of homosexuals. I feel that only good can come from undertanding.
In one case I may serve as an advocate for this counterculture. I see many heterosexuas speaking up for the homosexual community. We may be the only voice that other heterosexuals listen to becuase this coming from a homosexua may seem bias. This can bring peace between the two sexual entities. In another instance, this may help me to be able to prevent others from choosing a sexuality because of these experiences. It may help me to seek a medium to speak to the parents about the way they are parenting their kids.
Either way this gay bashing should be stopped . . . .again I say Let Gays Live
