The bible talks about living right and making wise decisions like Jesus versus living foolishly like Satan. So really. . .what makes one wise. According to Merriam Webster’s Pocket Dictionary, Wisdom is good sense or accumulated learning. Knowing this, inquisitively I dug deeper. In order to gain wisdom you have to do a lot of learning. So what is learning? Webster whispered to me again saying “To Learn means to gain understanding through study or experience.” Immediately a light bulb went off in my head. In order to be wise and powerful (Proverbs 24:5) one must do one of two things. The difference between the two is time and consequences. One can experience a situation which usually result in consequences of death, jail, or a loss or they can easily pick up a book and read. The only consequence of that is a breadth of knowledge.
If you think about it reading is a part of everyone’s culture. You cant travel, shop, cook, or even communicate without reading. Do you think the wisest among the wise got to their point of preponderance without reading or studying in some form?
