The Wonderful Bliss of Nostalgia

There's a feeling thats better than any orgasm, any weed, or any sermon can give you: the feeling from nostalgia. The feeling always makes me smile, accentuates my confidence, and erradicates any second guessing. I always feel welcomed. I can safely say that nostalgia can be anyone's means to cloud nine.

"In My Projects"

Today as I washed my beautiful car I reflected on the social heiarchy of my middle and high school years. To be amongst the cream of social crop one had to firstly be fashionably, comically, violently, athletically, and/or financially inclined to be accepted. Once accepted one must have had a interesting inner quality to sustain orrise (perpetuation and diversity of traits leads to a social rise). This was usually easy for comedians. Financially strong individuals usually were smart so their wit kept them alive. Fighters made groups feel secure so most times group members keep these individuals around. Athletes brought easy fame to the group and boosted the collective social status of the group tremendously. The fashionable were usually self asorbed, so their sustainability varied amongst the many groups they hung around.

Chad shows humilty

Chad Ochocinco has a heart larger than his ego. Recently he suprised a homless child with fruition to his dream: to go to a football camp to see his favorite player, Chad Johnson. I teared up when I watched this. Take a peek here.

Weekday Vegetarian

Often times I hear vegetarians talking about how horrible burger eaters are. I often feel bad about their fact based arguments and sometimes even feel compelled to stop eating meat. However, I cant give up the savory cheeseburgers!! I know I am not alone on these inconsistent urges that conflict with my eating habits. For those who do go through what I go through Graham Hill has offered an alternative.

Death of iPHONE--Damn It!!

Ever wanted to be mad, but couldn’t? Today I was texting some friends that I really miss from college and my little brother comes behind me and tries to tackle me. Abruptly after contact was made my iPhone -- in which I purchased four months ago -- somersaults into the air and sticks a tragic landing on the dark concrete of the parking lot. My phone…my pictures….my texts….my contacts…my appointments all gone. Impulsively reacting I slapped the shit out of my little brother then attempted to ignore my mom’s fussing in the background. Now It’s about twenty minutes after the incident and I want to be mad but I can’t. For I alwaystry to  make a friendly environment with my younger siblings and welcome chidish playing. My brother and I always rough play as my hidden means to toughen him up. But in this instance I wish I didn’t. Now I sit here wishing I had a reason to be mad but confined to despondence. I can’t blame him at all for what he’s done…simple mistake. [May 30, 2010 2:31 pm]

Google Is About To Boom!

[Cool Pic]

Early last week I was accepted to the Google BOLD Immersion program to prep me for a future internship with them. With that, I have been doing a bit of research on Google. Google is much like Clorox; as a new company its means of gaining revenue is unvarying. I spoke with the CEO of Clorox, Donald Knauss, in April and he told me that when Clorox first started off, their revenue came primarily from bleach. Now that they have diversified their pool of products, ranging from charcoal to pet food, bleach only contributes 9% of their total gross revenue.

Just as such, Google gets 97% of their revenue from advertisements alone. This means that Google has a lot of growth with the broad array of businesses to indulge in within technology and information services. They have just launched their subsidiary phone business in January of this year and my hopes are that they plan to diversify their product range even more. As an investor I would capitalize on Google in this slowly recovering market. Many businesses are regaining their momentum and are hiring as well. This provides sustainability to Google’s advertisement revenues and a very lucrative time to offer new products with an anticipated increase in consumer spending. Google is about to boom. Take cover.

Kalos Proverb

Kalos Proverb:  It's the inexplicability of "love" that keeps people in pusuit of the conundrum itself.

What brainstorming can't explain to me is why so many long for something that they can't explain, nevertheless understand. If you have been following this blog for sometime then you'd see that I personally don't feel like the term should be used unless one has performed proper prerequisites (Check my alliteration bitch!). I view "love" as a term; a term that is used as a substitute in the syntax of one's attempt to convey to another how much he or she cares for that mate. Often the question "why" pops up after one has so eloquently said "I love you." Real love or Fake love--there should be prerequisites in place before one should ever be able to say "I love you"  to their mate. Before making such meaningful--but meaningless--statement, one should be able to descriptively convey to their mate exactly how he or she feels using all the words and phrases  Marriam Webster provides before he or she  resorts to the substitute: love.

Sidebar: Did you know that Dictionary.com provides 28 different definitions for this one word?

Shouts out to PATisDOPE for this video. I recently said that I hated the way Chris Brown was attempting to regain the momentum behind his brand but I can get with this video. Tyga kilt it and so did Kevin McCall....Dope shit. Check it out...

Thinking 'bout Leadership

John Maxwell once wrote "Leadership is influence. Nothing more. Nothing less." Last week I was inquiring if there even was a concrete method to gaining that influence. Well. . .here's what I got: Esotericism. Influence is the ability to compel others to do certain actions. With that, others will be apt to doing those actions if they have reached a certain level of appreciation of y'all's relationship. One thing that I have noticed builds that appreciation is esotericism. Its something peculiar about it that makes people feel special and included. Nicknames, private outings, special spots, and etc all are included in the idea of esotericism. Imagine--becuase its improbable-- if you had the ability to build that many relationships on that level.

Well its probably not going to happen. What I've noticed many people do is start with a small amount of people. Others then deem this person as the guy/gal to be around and begin making attempts to join his/her entourage. The trick is, however, is to keep availability limited. This makes them value your presence more and yadda yadda.

Richard Sears Offers a Energy Alternative

With the current oil crisis BP and two other companies have brought to the Gulf of Mexico, the question "what if we run out of oil soon" is frequently passed around. Well Richard Sears, a VP at Shell and visiting scientist at MIT, offers a considerable alternative: Calcium Carbonate.

He argues that with the sustainable production of alvioni shells and molecule manipulation technology could impose, there is still hope for the world to meet the energy demand in years to come.

Mobile Meandering

Today I woke up from an  uncomfortable nap and sought to alleviate that uncomfortablity with a bit of relaxation outside. There I found my nieghbors, Mr. Bishop and Jesse, chopping it up on the Mr. Bishop's well maintained lawn. Almost immediately Mr. Bishop expressed his pride and expectations of me in his greeting. "Dr. Morehouse!" he exclaimed. Modestly I declined. "Whatever happened to the idea of meritocracy" I appealed. "Allow me to do the work before you hand me the degree." He responded with this completely irrelevant analogy of Jesus dying on the cross. It was then that I decided not to delve deeper into this conversation and settled to merely entertain his thoughts.

Later in the conversation I decided to show these old men that I am more than what my grandmother speaks of me. I tried to get a light philosophical "collective inquiry" going but Mr. Bishop once again dominated the conversation with his irrelevant spiritual analogies. This was becoming very bothersome so I left and to sit peacefully in my car.

What I've noticed is that most Christians are humdrum scholars as a defense mechanism. (Disclaimer: I have not encountered all Christians so most of thoughts of Christians can very much so be unfair and erroneous.) What I've observed is that these zealous scholars often times try to intertwine their logic and spirituality in hopes for a deeper truth. This subliminal practice of asceticism only negates their original purpose; while they often try to find a deeper truth within the realm of the convergence between intellect and spirituality, they often reject possible threats to their logic with more converged intellect and spirituality. It comes off as irrelevant in most cases becuase these responses to threats are usually prepared or carried of the teachings of another Christian scholar.

I'm sure these Christians are harmless and inadvertent magpies. However, if Christians didn't use this defense mechanism so often, then maybe they would be more apt to involve in communion. (In this case, let's look at communion as the exchange between two diff parties.) In the Path to Enlightenment the Dalai Lama explains the idea of "emptying your cup" to get the unabated teachings from all experiences. He expressed how one should rid of premeditated perceptions, aversions, and thoughts when attempting to learn something to understand the situation better from different sides of various cases. Christians could be so much more powerful if they tried the same. When in search of a deeper truth through collective inquiry, it's best to listen deeply without premeditated positions before thinking of ways to combat the thoughts proposed to the discussion.

Pakistan bans Fbook and Ytube

So Pakistan is banning Facebook and YouTube because the govt deems these sites to be blasphemous in relevance to their precious religion. I personally feel as though taking this large of a measure is far too much. To echo Chris Brummitt, this hurts the business owners who advertise to the constituency in this country. A religion is a belief system that a group partakes in. However, the individuals that partake in this religion are responsible for their own advancement within the corridors of the system. With that, the govt should allow these individuals make these decisions individually.

It's sad that the govt must be that tyrannous with decision making and that assertive in implying that they don't trust their citizens with being religiously responsible. That country already has an explosive environment in which the citizens are the metaphorical bombs. The govt and citizens often collide because of the unfair rationality of the govt. I wont be surprised that if a few--yes a few-- citizens retaliate after realizing that their govt doesn't respect their capability to be responsible with religion. The govt has good intent but bad prudence in my opinion.

Trip to NY

You'd have to excuse the loose frequence of my posts. I have just landed back at home today from New York. Goldman Sachs flew me and a 100 other competitive students up to their Jersey City office for their 2010 Undergraduate Camp. This elucidating event that spanned across three days giving us the opportunity to simultaneously learn about Goldman Sachs's infrastucture and roam the streets of New York. While roaming, I came to the conclusion that I will definitely be working in New York upon graduation. Wallstreet would be nice, but I will settle for Times Square or even the Jersey shore (the PATH railway is deff doable). Here is a few pictures of me roaming the city:

RE-frigerator?

So I get home today from assin around and I make some Kool-Aid. When I finished stirring the sugar, Kool-aid powder and hot water, I had to REfrigerate the drink.

. . . Why the hell is it called the REfrigerator if it's my first time cooling the substance down?

Well I did some research. Turns out that the idot who coined the term used both latin roots of re- and frigus to mean "to cool again".

. . .. and why does the term refrigerator not have a "d" but its abreviation, fridge, does?

Couldn't find anything on that one lol....

Too inquisitive? . . .fuck off.

Does the inventor have an icebox where his brain used to be? lol

Scaredy Cats are Never Happy...

I've said this before... and I've stuck with it since. 'Fear is only constituted when the unknown is unknown.' Many times I hear my friends talk about what they can and can't do because of the provisions others have set in stone. They will bitch and moan about what they cant do because they are scared to reject the provisions given to them. These friends repeatedly talk about what they would do if this and what they could make happen if that but never seem to create either circumstance. My assumption is because they are embracing the unknown.

How fair is it for one to run from an aspiration becuase the dark clouds of the unknown were hovering above their aspiration. I imagine that once that person seeks to seize that aspiration that they will impinge that dark cloud into a brighter, happier sky. Let's say that I really wanted to be the president of SGA next year. I envision myself in two instances: one with me bringing my aspiration to fruition and one with me failing. These two opposing forces engender the unknown. The latter is the negative force that dilutes the momentum of the positve force. As a result of this I begin to ask myself questions such as "what if  I don't win SGA president?" I'd furtherly excogitate " Will I be the laughing stock of the school: Will I be able to regain my social momentum; Am I really too young and inexperienced?" This internal conversation usually gives more momentum to the negative force behind my aspiration rather than the positive. This is where the fear is constituted.

Fear of not being able to attain my goal was created by my own thought process. According to the law of attraction, the more you focus on the positive or the negative, the more likely the outcome you focused on will occur. People create fears habitually because they worry about the outcome. Heretically, I try not to focus on the outcome. I do what I want because that's what I wanted to do. Let's say I didn't focus on the outcome and just wholeheartedly went after my goal. Being that I didn't open the doors for external forces to distort my imagery of attainment, I am more likely to accomplish my goal. I have allowed the mental momentum to remain behind the positive.

I have learned to become content with the decisions I make and live with the consequences. Almost never have I done what I wanted to do--without reference to the possibilities of attainment--and not gotten an accolade or a valuable lesson. I don't consider the provisions other's have created (unless of course it is the only way to be successful in bringing my aspiration to fruition) and I have been enjoying life alot more.  My recipe for success is simple: Go with your first instict and dont think twice about it. I dont embrace the unknown any more. Maybe this lifestyle isn't for everyone ...but I don't bitch and moan about the possibilities of my actions anymore. I enjoy the rewards.

Fear is only constituted when the unknown is unknown. As long as one is able to neglect the concentration on the unknown, he or she builds more momentum towards the mental concentration of the attainment of their goal. Ergo, increasing the probability of one enjoying more success.

Quit focusing on the outcome; Just do it.

Let's Do It!

Anyone who's been following my blog knows about my aspiration to write a book. Ever since last summer I have been contemplating on different subjects and what audience to appeal to. Well, just yesterday I have finalized my decision. I have this really strong thesis that is defendable, testable, and enjoyable to study. I don't think this will be any ground breaking peice of work, but I do think a few people will be shocked at my age upon its completion. I'm hoping to receive an honorary doctorate off this book. Im really excited!! Wish me luck!!

David Cameron: The Newbie

Recently former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown resigned after being caught for calling the host of the Daily show a bigot. So now David Cameron stepped in as the youngest (43) PM since 1812. So far his ideas are very appealing and attainable. Nothing fancy. He only wants to create a "coalition between Conservatives and Liberal Democrats" to primitively attack the economic issues of Brittain and furthermore, create a "fairer, more tolerant, more green, more democratic, more prosperous, more just — truly a greater Britain." So far he has appointed Nick Clegg to serve as his Deputy Prime Minister.

I'm pretty sure this alliance would work. I just wish he doesn't encounter the same shit Obama did as he attempted to do the same.

Elena Kagan: Supreme Court Justice

President Barack Obama formally nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court yesterday, to fill the vacancy of retiring Justice John Paul Stevens. He praised his nominee as a “trailblazing leader” in the legal realm. Her credentials --notably, former Dean of Harvard Law-- compelled most in the Senate to vote 61-31 in March of 2009. However, some sucka-busta-voters are attempting to renig on their vote.

Orrin Hatch of Utah stated  that “her previous confirmation, and [his] support for her in that position, do not by themselves establish either her qualifications for the Supreme Court or [his] obligation to support her.” I personally think Orrin is a magpie (person who thrives off the ideas of others) and a mudwump (a person who can't up their mind when it comes to decisions).

Kagan doesn't have much documentation that will allow America to evaluate her prudence but according to the Wall Street Journal, she pretty much sticks to the books on everything. I like her so far. Let's see how she does!

Kimbo Fired

Kimbo Slice, street fighting phenomenon, was fired from the UFC. Dana White fired Slice after his loss against former NFL lineman, Mike Mitrione, for "ineffectiveness."

That hurts...

What will he do for a living now?

The Mother of Mother's Day: Anna Reeves Jarvis

In 1905 Ann Reeves Jarvis died with 13 children born to only see four reach adulthood. In her lifetime she created groups of mothers in communities around W.VA to sanitize the communities in hope to decrease infant mortality. Her efforts inspired Julia Ward Howe, the first advocate for a Mother's Day, to begin a global crusade for world peace in the midst of the Civil war and the Franco Prussian War in 1870. She felt that mother's have a right to protect the lives of their boys entering these wars. She promulgated the idea of  a "Mother's Day for Peace" in several speeches to "appeal to womanhood". Unfortunately her success chart is synonymous to a bell curve; the more she attempted to pervade the idea in innovative ways, the more her momentum increasingly disintegrated.

Fortunately one of Ann Reeves Jarvis's surviving kids, Anna Jarvis, held a memorial service for her two years after her death in a small church in Grafton, W.VA. This gave momentum back to the Mother's Day mission. It became and annual commemorative services for all mothers in Grafton and Philly. White Carnations were distributed heavily, consequently making these flowers the emblem for the mission. in 1910 the governor of W.VA made it an official holiday in May. Four years later President Emeritus Woodrow Wilson made it an international holiday.

During all the progression of the mission,  Jarvis was delighted that everyone complied with her wish to properly place the apostrophe in front of the "s" to show personal possession. She passionately fought for Mother's Day to be private and personal--to create an environment that would accentuate the genuineness of expressed appreciation for all mothers. In fact, when others attempted to promote Mother's Day away from its quintessence, she quickly expressed her aversions. Jarvis endorsed boycotts against businesses who raised the prices of white carnations on Mother's Day. She crashed a Philly Convention because they were improperly using  her idea and completely stole the emblem of the holiday for their personal advantages. She was arrested for this but the charges were dropped so she could continue to pervade her mission. She even challenged Former First Lady Roosevelt. At age 80 Jarvis was in an asylum  and by age 84 she died with no kids.

Anna Jarvis, Julia Ward Howe, and Anna Reeves Jarvis all wanted Mother's Day to be private and genuine. They believed that a private approach to showing appreciation will touch the hearts of mothers more than public displays of appreciation. They knew that mothers did a lot for their households and wished for reciprocity of their actions to be shown through gratuity. Their drive was remarkable. It gave us all the opportunity to further express how much we care for our mothers apart from our everyday living.

The Louder, The Longer

Picture:
A guy towering around 6'4 with a proportionate body walks into the restroom right before you. As you both approach the urinals, you both take a position that's sorta weird to hide your penis from each other. Disclaimer-- there are a lot of homosexuals in the Atlanta University Center.  So now that we are set to piss...LET THE PISSING BEGIN!!

As I walk out of that restroom I realize the weirdest shit. Naturally dudes are very competitive. With that, we may take it too far sometimes. Being that the penis is the #1 compliment to a man's ego, we often posture ourselves to give implications that ours is the biggest.  However, once positioned in the urinal, that posturing can save you no longer.

I listen to the amount of bass in the sound of a dude's piss hitting the water to convey the amount of length of a dude's penis. I just need to know if he is bigger than me and I know I'm not alone on this method (don't make me call out names).  I know that this truly only equates to the pressure in his bladder pushing the piss out or the velocity of his inner penis muscles pushing it out, but I still practice this. I figure the louder, the longer. With the proximity of his penis and the water  or ,even if he is tall, the distance between he and the water could bring more volume to his piss. Who knows. This is definitely not an effective method but I do it anyhow for competition purposes.

Don't Judge.

Apparently Philosophy and Nature Don't Mix

I have a new found love for nature. Today after I beasted my Pre-Calc final, I decided to stroll off to the library and lose myself in the philosophy section. Well, I came across the "cooperative inquiry" between Socrates and Theatetus about perception is knowledge  in Plato's Theory of Knowledge.

I find that surely enough that is true. However the author, Francis Cornford, attempts to corroborate this truth by bringing about an theory of Protaguras. Protaguras believed that men are the measure of all things (I find the explanation of this to be easy to attain through a wee bit of brainstorming. If you can't understand, google it). I do not agree. Men are the measure of all things comprehendible to man. Simply put,  this is man's world only to man (no reference to gender).  I feel as though the author opposed his intent upon reference to Protaguras. He earlier quoted Protaguras stating "Knowledge is to me as it appears to me and to you as it appears to you." Well how is man measurer of all things when man has no accessibility to the comraderie to things unseen to man?

Whosoever said that trees don't converse between each other? Who was it that stated that armadillos didn't throw the wildest ass parties in the desert? Who was that said that mice didn't mate with cows? Please point out the guy who deemed other animals dumber or less competent than humans; for he has proven himself mighty incompetent through his lack of consideration and neglect to thorough excogitation. For all we know, we may have be purposely blocked from the genuine communion and total interaction with other species as a defense mechanism. They may not want humans to know anything because humans have only manipulated their beings for the advancements of humans alone thus far.

I have a new found respect and appreciation for nature and other species. I don't think it was fair for Protaguras to assert this and for Cornford to later promulgate this. I surely wish that both were alive so I could engage in "cooperative inquiry" to help these guys arrive at a better truth.

SEX SELLS...but it doesn't help our economy.

So Trey Songz blew up last summer simply by being transparent. He stepped out of the pretty boy, make-you-wonder what exactly he doing while he's gettin it on in the "last time" video persona to the strictly exemplary sex-attic persona. Sales boomed for him. Now you'll find Chris Brown, Ciarra and others attempting to mimic his strategy with hopes to mimic his success. In the spirit of competition, thats fine; In the hopes of the youth, thats horrid.

Chris Brown, Ciarra, and Trey Songz are all the emerging leaders of the industry (if you wouldn't already consider them leading it now). With that, once they get to the level of preponderance as Jay-Z and Wayne, then they will have created a path for others to succeed in the industry. Those new artists will have to mimic these preponderant artists to get their start, then innovate what they have to sustain.

Here's my problem . With those thousands of newly incoming artists creating and innovating licentitious images, their constituants--which are mostly between the ages of 12-22,  will have hieghten sex drives. The positive shows that their will be less emphasis on the usage violence for those constituants to gain a high social status. However, the negative almost provides a polar affect. While the marketed violence created more crimes and higher death rates, this pervasion of licentiousness will create more babies in an environment that is not ready for larger populations.

Think about it. With the continuous financial fuck-ups, the oil in water problems, bomb attempts, borderline economy inflations and crazy ass people on the news right now, do you really think the world, nevertheless America can handle more population? I applaud Trey Songz for the bomb ass job he's done. He's created many wonderful nights for me. However, the arising competitors should try something newer. . . and safer...please =(. I wish for socially consious artists to run the industry. This way their influence will be used to dig these populations out of the plight that their leadership has placed them in.

I Love the Way You "Ride" it Too!

I've have good. In fact, I've had great. . . but I haven't had some of the shit done in this video done to me. Ciarra has never--and I do emphasize NEVER-- looked so good to me.

Lowkey--She's trying to use Trey Songz's strategy for boosting her status in the industry. Im not sure if I agree with the pervading licentiousness. **Blog Post**

"I'm Playing Ball with the President and Dunking on His Delegates."

"The world better prepare for when I'm a billionaire" says Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars. Shit I feel the same way! Everybody knows Bruno is a beast but now Travie says its his time to shine. He is a member of Gym Class Heroes but his solo album drops June 8th. Shouts out to SuperStarr and Miss Dimples for blessing me with a new theme song.

CUTCO CUTLERY--- Feeding Me Bullshit

Today I did horrible on my Math Final Exam so I sought to alleviate the painstaking thoughts of a deteriorating B minus final grade with some weed.  Towards the end of my smoke session I recieve a call from an unknown number. "Jeffrey Williams" I answered.

"Hi Jeffrey, my name is Katie with Vectors Marketing."  At that moment bells began to ring. Thoughts of a sweet internship deal swayed my focus of the conversation towards the mula I'd be earning; nevertheless the resume boosting it would do. "Vectors Marketing was found in blah blah.  We are a marketing group that offers  blah blah to students" --aaaaaaaaaaaaaand she continued to feed the typical bullshit a company would throw at me on the phone.

She told me she had gotten my contact information from a guy I hardly talked to in high school (this guy was legit so I figured he had a legit internship he was trying to put me on) and offered me an interview for a position that was 15 dollars an hour--for a part time job.  It sounded so similiar to the company my dumb ass 4X800m relay parter recieved after he graduated. He went door to door selling knives and 'fridges' and got paid like 20 bucks and hour--for four hours.

So I allowed he to continue as I began detecting fallacies within her pitch. Towards the end of her bullshit we set up an interview --for the very next day-- and she asked me did I have anymore questions. I asked her where I could find more information about the company and the position available before my interview. She told me to visit http://www.workforstudents.com/  and the manager that was interviewing me would tell me about the positions (plural).  Before we hung up she insisted on giving me directions versus just giving me the address.
  • Peep This -- This aligned with her evasiveness. By giving me the address I would have never found out that the location was in VIlla Rica, GA. [WHERE THE FUCK IS THAT????] If she had given me the address, like most businesses do, I would have found out the distance while Mapquest-ing the location and further more thought deeper into the legitamacy of this company.
That did it for me. She was unknowledgeable the position, had a random contact information source, remainedevasive throughout the whole phone call. With that, I pegged this call to be a scam and decided to look online immediately for some info that would corroborate my assumption. On the website, http://www.workforstudents.com/, All the details of the company were generic and gave little details. Fortunately it gave enough info to direct me to a third party source that would break all this shit down for me. Under the "Products" tab it gave reference to CUTCO products. I googled CUTCO and found the first three main searches to be "CUTCO", "CUTCO Knives" and "CUTCO scam." Apparently I chose the latter; It explained a situation similiar to this one--but a little longer and testy of the waters-- that proved me right. CUTCO CUTLERY is a SCAM!!! I called her back to cancel the interview but unsuprisingly she didn't pick up.

Be on the watch out for these artists kiddos!
